FirmGreen® Elevates Eco-Awareness at Jeep King of the Mountain Ski Tour

NEWPORT BEACH, CA, January 22, 2008 — FirmGreen Energy, Inc. (FGE®) of Newport Beach, California is on the slopes with the Jeep King of the Mountain (JKOM) Tour, as its environmental consultant. The tour started in Telluride, Colorado on December 14, continues in Squaw Valley, California February 8 - 11, and wraps up in Sun Valley, Idaho, March 14 - 16.

FirmGreen is taking a comprehensive approach to help reduce the environmental impact of the tour, from recommending alternative fuels and biodegradable products, to providing a forum at each stop on the tour to showcase eco-friendly products and support local environmental initiatives.
Greening the tour starts with the basics – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Both ski events and concerts will have comprehensive recycling efforts aimed at achieving a near Zero Emission/Zero Waste footprint for the season. Visitors can opt to purchase a Green Ticket for any event they attend and help support regional renewable energy projects that avoid producing greenhouse gas emissions while providing reliable electrical power generation year round.

Wanna hit the scene as a Green VIP? Visitors can get a GotGreen?™ VIP bracelet by taking the time to complete a brief survey of their personal carbon footprint at the event, and participating in the JKOM Rideshare program. Cool prizes, VIP goodies, and great discounts at the venues will reward the effort during this year’s tour, but long term protection of a cold and snowy winter environment is the ultimate goal – without that, there’s nothing to ski on!

Off the slopes, the Green Your Scene Film Festival is helping to create a collective awareness about environmental issues that inspires individuals to minimize their impact on the mountain and continue the change once they return home. Because at the end of the weekend when the lifts stop running and the music dies down – the environment is the common bond between the athletes, the musicians, and everyone who visits the mountain.
