World TeamTennis® Is Going Green with FirmGreen™

NEWPORT BEACH, CA, March 5, 2007 — FirmGreen Energy, Inc. (FGE™) is hitting the courts this year with World TeamTennis (WTT), as a sponsor for both its pro and recreational leagues. For the regular season in 2007, FirmGreen will focus its efforts on two teams, becoming the Official Green Energy Company of the Newport Beach Breakers and the Sacramento Capitals.

Co-founded by Billie Jean King in 1974, WTT is well known for its innovative co-ed team approach to showcasing the best pro tennis talent in the world along with legendary all-stars, delivering a great fan experience up close to the action! In addition, WTT is involved in each community of its pro franchises, promoting youth fitness and junior tennis leagues, along with other charities.

FirmGreen will also “green” the WTT Finals Weekend in Sacramento, July 27 – 29, and the WTT Recreational League National Championship in Indian Wells, California, November 1 – 4. To calculate emissions associated with the tournaments, FGE will review event related activities from travel to venue lighting. FGE will donate renewable energy credits (RECs) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission offsets to help WTT reduce its carbon footprint for these events.

“We’re always looking to do things that matter to people in their community and getting greener certainly matters,” says Ilana Kloss, WTT CEO/Commissioner. “We want to be a leader in our sport and this is a way we can start to make even more of a positive difference. It’s a great message to get out there, especially to kids who are such an important part of the WTT experience.”

“FirmGreen is committed to helping individuals, institutions, and businesses live a greener lifestyle,” says Steve Wilburn, Founder and President of FirmGreen. “We are honored to work with Billie Jean and WTT. By contributing carbon offsets from our green energy projects we can enable a family to enjoy the talents of male and female athletes competing on an equal basis at a WTT event with a minimum impact on the environment. It simply is the right thing to do; the energy choices we make today affect not only us but our children’s children.”
