NEWPORT BEACH, CA, March 5, 2009 — FirmGreen Energy, Inc. (FGE®)
of Newport Beach, California is on the green at the Toshiba Classic, providing clean energy and fuels to the tournament as part of Toshiba's commitment to a more sustainable event. The PGA Champions Tour tournament, which takes place annually in Newport Beach, is Orange County's only official PGA Tour-sanctioned event.
For the tournament, FirmGreen has partnered with Akeena Solar to provide solar power to help offset electricity needs by producing close to 75kW of solar power. This power will be used to power the electronic leaderboards and other equipment used throughout the tournament grounds.
In addition, FirmGreen will assist the tournament with biodiesel fuels for onsite generators reducing emissions approximately 5% at the event. These programs will assist the Toshiba Classic in its constant efforts to help the environment and become even more socially responsible, a constant goal of Toshiba America, Inc.
