Tennis Goes Greener with FirmGreen™ at Breakers
New Venue
NEWPORT BEACH, CA, June 28, 2007 — FirmGreen Energy, Inc. (FGE™)
is hitting the courts for the upcoming season with the Newport Beach Breakers
(NBB), a World TeamTennis (WTT) pro league team. The season opener is
Friday, July 6, 2007 vs. the Sacramento Capitals, and marks FirmGreen’s
inaugural year as the Official Green Energy Company of the Newport Beach
Breakers.
FirmGreen is excited to help sponsor the Breakers for their first year
at the new venue – sure to be a great fan experience up close to
the action! FirmGreen will also be working with the team management to
encourage recycling at the venue, and in gathering data to determine the
carbon footprint for its matches. To calculate emissions associated with
the Breakers season, FGE will review event related activities from travel
to venue lighting. FGE will donate renewable energy credits (RECs) and
greenhouse gas (GHG) emission offsets to help NBB reduce its carbon footprint
for the regular season matches.
FirmGreen will also “green” the WTT Finals Weekend in Sacramento,
July 27 – 29, and the WTT Recreational League National Championship
in Indian Wells, California, November 1 – 4.
Steve Wilburn, President and CEO of FGE and a longtime resident of Newport
Beach, stated, “FirmGreen Energy is very excited to be partnering
with the Newport Beach Breakers and we appreciate the important charitable
contributions it is making for our community in partnership with the management
of the Hoag Hospital Foundation. We also are proud to help the Breakers
strive to minimize their carbon footprint for the season.”
